This year marks my third year as the principal of Yan Oi Tong Tin Ka Ping Secondary School and my twelfth year as a school principal. Every time I stand in this role, I am deeply aware of the heavy responsibility it entails, while also feeling immense gratitude. It is an extraordinary honour to work alongside such outstanding and kind-hearted teachers, witnessing the growth and progress of students.

A school is not just a place for imparting knowledge; it is also a home where students live, grow, and pursue their dreams. I hope that every student here can find joy in learning and achieve holistic growth in knowledge, character, and spirit.

Over the years, we have worked hard to improve the campus, aiming to provide students with a more enriching learning and living environment. For example, the renovated school hall has brought a refreshing, more vibrant atmosphere to various activities and ceremonies. The newly redesigned school lobby and cultural plaza have become important spaces for students to interact and connect. The new fitness room encourages students to enhance their physical health, while the student union room offers opportunities to nurture leadership and teamwork. Additionally, we have introduced height-adjustable desks to accommodate the growth needs of our students. Looking ahead, we plan to build a self-study room, providing students with a quiet and focused learning space where they can strive for excellence in an ideal environment.

This year, our public examination results are gratifying, but what makes me even prouder is witnessing the moral growth of our students. During the opening ceremony, I shared two quotes from The Analects with them:

" Do not do to others what you do not wish for yourself."

"To establish oneself, one must help others establish themselves; to achieve one’s goals, one must help others achieve theirs."

These proverbs remind us that true moral education lies in putting ourselves in others' shoes, caring for and respecting others. This aligns deeply with our school motto: "Establish yourself, nurture others." I hope every student will not only strive for academic excellence but also learn to be compassionate, empathetic, and supportive, bringing warmth and positivity to those around them.

The second proverb "To establish oneself, one must help others establish themselves; to achieve one’s goals, one must help others achieve theirs" emphasizes the importance of helping others while working toward our own goals. In helping others, we grow ourselves—a principle embodied by our school motto. Mr. Tin Ka Ping once said, "To establish oneself is to help others, and helping others is to benefit oneself." I sincerely hope that every student will take this as their guiding principle, making continuous progress in both academics and life, and eventually becoming individuals who contribute to the nation, society, and the world.

Yan Oi Tong Tin Ka Ping Secondary School is a vibrant and caring community, a testament to the collective efforts of generations of teachers and students. As the saying goes, "Those who plant trees benefit future generations." As educators, we bear the dual responsibilities of preserving past achievements and forging ahead to "plant new trees," creating an environment where students can flourish. This belief and mission have always inspired me to move forward.

Looking to the future, I have great confidence in Yan Oi Tong Tin Ka Ping Secondary School. I believe that our school will nurture even more outstanding students. As we continuously strive to improve, the cumulative effort will lead to extraordinary growth. I encourage all students to dream big, stay grounded, and write their own remarkable chapters during their time here.

Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to every parent, teacher, and student for your support and dedication. Let us continue to work hand in hand as we journey toward an even brighter future together!
